Summer Fundraising Day 2016

We are now in our third year of our Summer Fundraising Day, and we want to see you there again!

On the 23rd July, the Krissy And Friends Annual Summer Fundraising Day will return to the Steamboat Tavern in Ipswich.

As you probably already know by now, we provide music therapy for children in Suffolk with life changing illness and injury. And we’ve just launched our referral applications!

But back to the event…

First up we have the FAMILY FUN DAY from 12pm-6pm, where we will have family friendly activities from a bouncy castle, raffles, stalls, cake and bake sale, a bouncy castle, acoustic music and much more!

However, possibly our favourite part of the day is the 2nd annual raingutter regatta and boat building – which you can read about in full here.

Then we’ll follow it up in the evening with LIVE MUSIC from 7pm till late, where we will host some of Suffolk’s best bands for a mere £5 entry.

The line-up of which so far includes:

The brilliant three-piece Denial Twist, a garage rock band from Ippo and Colchester, that claim to be influenced by red wine, The White Stripes, Nirvana and Katy Perry!

The Dreggs, who started out as a laugh between the three of them (or really, an excuse for more Les Dawson moments from Kev, drumstick throwing from Rayna and falling over from Seamus), but will now be aired to the public! As as the three of them claim they “can’t sing for toffee”, they’ve managed to bribe/beg/threaten a number of guest vocalists to join them and among them shall be their shipmates from East Town Pirates for a couple of never played live before, new ETP songs.

The evening will then end with Smart Alex, who are a veritable supergroup of East Anglian punksters. Their set is full of frenetic old school Adicts and Sustained tunes from way back when.

Check out the posters for the event here:

Any further details are to be confirmed, so follow both Our Facebook Event or Our Facebook Page and The Dreggs Facebook event and check back for updates.

Plus if you want to be sure you don’t miss this entertaining evening of fabulous music with a dash of chaos, please contact us for tickets or head over to Steamboat Tavern or Out Of Time Records to pick some up.

Feel free to spread the word, join the Facebook event, invite your friends and family, and we hope to see you there on the big day!

Referrals Now Welcome…

What a fantastic couple of years we have had and such exciting times ahead.

With your help we are now in a position to support individual children or young people and their families in East Anglia with ‘Therapy Through Music’.

This could mean we fund a course of sessions with a qualified Music Therapist or arrange a bespoke package tailored to meet the individual child or young persons specific need/s.  Bespoke packages could be anything from funding a family trip to see a show to arranging music lessons or providing musical equipment.  Whatever the need we aim to meet it.

HOW DO YOU MAKE A REFERRAL?

Please contact us through our referral page.

WHO CAN REFER ?

We welcome referrals from anyone and everyone.  You do not need to be a professional to make a referral.

We aim to support as many children and young people as possible.  With your help we hope to increase the amount we reach.  Our next fund raising event is our Summer Fundriaser on 23rd July 2016 at the Steamboat Tavern, Ipswich.  We hope you to see you there.

Many thanks from all of us at KFF for your support in getting us to where we are today. Your generosity will benefit many local families.

Marathon Runners: Final Update

As you should know, we had two wonderful people, Clare and Colin, run the London Marathon for us on the 24th of April.

You may have even been following their progress on our Facebook page, but if not… here’s the final summary for you.

First off, we just want to say we cannot thank Colin and Clare enough for their gruelling day. They both finished the marathon and have, at last count, raised approximately £2,000.

We are in the stages of launching our referral process and this money will go a LONG way to supporting many young people and their families. Well done to you both… You are nothing short of amazing!

Clare (aka “Duch … the London Marathon Finisher!”) said earlier this week:

“It’s been a bit of a roller coaster! My legs are finally talking to me again, on Monday morning I had to literally crawl to the bathroom as I just couldn’t walk!

Sooo… I only went and blinkin’ did it!

I just want to say thank you so much for coming down to support me, those that did, because I honestly don’t think I would have been able to carry on after mile 18… I wasn’t in the best of places and coming round the corner and seeing a bunch of you there was just brilliant.

I’ve had a few people point out that the page was still open for donations, so have seen quite a few more donations come through. I can’t believe how much we’ve been able to raise for you though!

I hope we have raised enough for you guys to be able to carry on the great work you are already doing to help the kiddies and their families.

Off now to get a pedicure done to thank my tootsies for getting me round without any blisters or losing any toenails!”

For more photos and snapshots of the day, join us on Facebook or Twitter.

2nd Birthday Party

We would like you to join us in celebrating our 2nd year fundraising for local families, at our 2nd birthday party.

This is not a fundraising event but is our way of saying thank you for your part in making this past year and our journey so successful!

It’s family friendly so please bring your loved ones with you, and it’ll be taking place on Sunday 8th May 2016 at The Steamboat Tavern from 4.30pm till 7pm.

Follow the event here on our Facebook page.

We hope you can make it!

Please support our Marathon Runners!

Whilst most of us have been getting over our Christmas Cake eating Clare Regale-Day and Colin Russell have been busy training for the Marathon to be held on 24th April 2016.

With our English weather dipping to 1 degrees we cannot thank Clare and Colin enough for their gruelling training programmes. If you see them training along the Thames or over our rural countryside, please give them a wave and a cheer!

Please also follow the links below and support them in helping our young people of Suffolk.

In the meantime, well done to both Clare and Colin and our thoughts are with you!

2016 Marathon Runners

We are over the moon that two very brave runners Colin Russell and Clare Regale-Day have chosen KFF to their charity when running the London Marathon on the 24th of April 2016.

We will be watching these guys closely whilst they train ready for this mammoth endurance run and will keep you all updated.

You will be able to sponsor them using our online donation page very soon,  so watch this space!

Here’s two images of one half of the team, Colin!

Albion Mills Christmas Shindig Update

This was the Albion Mill Christmas gig, where we were their chosen charity and what a brilliant evening we had just before Christmas.

We spent a night with the Albion Mills boys and were transported back into the brilliance of classic rock and pop of the late 60’s and early 70’s.  Local business also supported the event by donating raffle prizes.

The boys managed to raise £686.01, which is an amazing amount from one evening.  On behalf of all at KFF and the young people we aim to support and their families, a big thank you!

Here are a few photos from the evening! (click to enlarge)

Thank You and Welcome to 2016!

All at Krissy & Friends Foundation would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the year by either turning up at one of our events, raising money for us, donating to us or buying our merchandise.  We have had a fun packed 2015 and look forward to giving you all a detailed report of the year in April 2016, after our financial year end.

We have many things planned for 2016; for example, following our 2 marathon runners whilst they train to undertake an amazing and gruelling run.  Our 2nd Multi-Pub Music Quiz event, with everyone saying how much fun they had how could we not do it again! Our 2nd annual birthday bash, we invite everyone to come and celebrate the financial year end and allows us to say thank you to you all personally.

Prior to these we have our first BIG TASK… getting our ‘referral committee’ up and running.  There is still time to complete application forms to join this vital team.  Once this team is in place we will be ready to start working with the young people and families within our community who need our help.  We are all so excited.

Finally, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve what we have this year without your support and help. On behalf of everyone at KFF… A MASSIVE thank you!

Also, keep your eyes peeled over the next few days as we’ve got some more updates on recent events.
