As you may (or may not) know, almost a year ago now we pulled off our very first official event, which was our “family fun weekend”, hosting a gig on one night and a family fun day the following day.
But this year, we’re back… bigger and better!
On Saturday the 18th of July we will be hosting an evening of music with Red Flag 77, Casual Nausea and Suspect Device. Entry will be £5 on the door. Prepare yourself for loud music, food, fun, a booze raffle and more! Join the event on Facebook.
On Sunday the 19th of July we will be hosting a second day of fun, with an event suitable for all the family! We will have live acoustic performances, an open mic (for all ages!), kids & adults raffles, cakes & savouries stalls, a BBQ, games, dancing, music workshops and the first annual rain gutter regatta where you build your own boat (in advance or on the day) and the will be prizes up for grabs if you’ve got the best boat! Well what a brilliant weekend we’ve had…
From Thursday until Saturday we spent all our time with the wonderful folks that are CAMRA at Ipswich Town Football Clubs training pitch. It was the 32nd Ipswich Beer Festival and we were CAMRAs chosen charity.
Then to follow that, on Sunday we had a delightful afternoon at Grundisburgh’s ‘Hidden Gardens’ event as we were also the chosen charity for their events. See more upcoming events that are part of the GBCHS Horticulture festival at www.gbchs.org.uk or on our events page.
Regarding the Beer Festival, we would like to say a huge thank you to GrapevineLive for helping us provide music at the beer festival, to Stephen Foster for an exciting music quiz and a MASSIVE thanks to all our volunteers who turned up at both events, in all weather, and donated their time and support to make these events as successful as they were. In total we have managed to raise a HUGE £1,831.40 this weekend at the Beer Festival, so once again thank you to EVERYONE who dug deep into their pockets. This is a massive amount that will go a long way to helping families in our community. On behalf of all the trustees … THANK YOU xox

As you have probably already heard, Krissy and Friends are the chosen charity for the 2015 Ipswich Beer Festival, being held between 11-13 June at the Ipswich Town Football Club by CAMRA. (See full event details and our involvement here).
In addition to this, we are working alongside Grapevine LIVE, who are programming the acoustic stage for the event… and we need your help to find performers! Think you can help us out or know someone who can? You have until Monday the 1st of June to fill in an application form. As we said before, last week (Thursday 23rd of April) we handed over our cheque of what we have raised in a year to EACH, and what a brilliant, emotive afternoon we had at EACH.
With all your continued support over the past year, we managed to raise our target and present £5,000 to the music therapy department at EACH. Attached is an image of that moment.
Thank you to the choir who sang beautifully, and Gemma who took the time to show us around the wonderful building and The Treehouse Garden. It was great to reminisce and return to the room where Kath and I (Krissy) first hatched the plan to start Krissy & Friends and wow, what a way we’ve come since then!

A big thank you to all of you who turned out to our Birthday event that also happened last Thursday. We hope you enjoyed celebrating with us and all got a piece of the Krissy & Friends cake! We are so proud and pleased of how far you’ve allowed us to come and we hope to see you again on our 2nd Birthday!
But if you couldn’t make it… once again, a huge thank you to everyone for your continued support. However big or small your contribution, every little bit helps and we are looking forward to the exciting events we have planned for this year so keep your eyes peeled for new information… Bring it on!! xox
We recently held a meeting, so as promised, there is indeed news! SO BRACE YOURSELVES AS WE HAVE LOTS OF IT!
On the 23rd of April (just two weeks away!) will be a very special day for us as WE TURN ONE! Yep, it will be our first official Birthday! We will be meeting and handing over the money we have raised so far thanks to your kind donations to EACH and will be even closer to being a registered charity! We will follow this exciting day by a Birthday Bash in the late afternoon/evening. Details are still being finalised, but when they are, we will create an event ASAP and YOU ARE ALL INVITED! So make a memo of the date because we’d love to celebrate with you and shake all our loyal supporters’ hands!
In other exciting news, we can also confirm that we will be in partnership with the Beer Festival in Ipswich from 11 to 13 June. We have all sorts of plans up our sleeves which will be explained at a further date but for now, make a note these dates because we will be there and we want to see you there too! In fact we would love it if some of you become involved too. Is anyone interested in a one-off volunteer job? It will be great fun, and you can give as little or as much time as you want! Finally, once again, many details still need to be sorted before we can give you the full facts but save the dates of Saturday July 18 and Sunday July 19 because due to the success of last year’s gig and family day, we will be doing the same again! On Saturday evening there will be a mix of bands with exciting raffles and yummy food while on Sunday there will be a family day with entertainment and games for all! We hope to have an even greater success with it than last year!
We understand these are brief descriptions, but they are all still works in progress but the dates are confirmed so we figured if we gave you all an early heads up, you can jot them in your diaries and come along. Thanks again for your continued support!
